Greetings! I spent last weekend, the 19th of January to the 21st, in Montreal with my best friend (Taylor... the other aquarius in this equasion), her boyfriend (Matt), and my boyfriend (Kyle). It was for sure a trip I needed to take.
It was really cool to learn the difference between each axe and how exactly to throw them, as well as how to tell if you need to stand differently. Having an archery background, I struggled with breaking out of old habbits and embracing the new. Taylor came out the ultimate champion. After we finished at Rage, we made our way to our Airbnb... which was okay other than the fact that the bed Matt chose was broken, and they ended up having to take the matress off and put it on the floor. I have never used airbnb before, but Matt and Taylor have. They've had great experiences and this was by far the worst, though the living room and kitchen were cool. Matt is still dealing with the fallout of this experience, so I'm kind of hesitant to try Airbnb again, but we shall see. After we got changed and ready to go out, we called an uber (my first uber ride, as well) and headed to the Lockhart for dinner and drinks. Kyle and I had been to the Lockhart in Toronto the year before and absolutely loved it. It's a bar based off of Harry Potter, which I grew up on. It's a story that's still near and dear to my heart, and so when I found that there was a bar themed after it, i obviously had to go! This bar was a little different than the one in Toronto, but it was still good nonetheless. We got a pitcher of Betterbeer (which is supposed to be a play off of butterbeer, though this one was a little heavier in cinnomon than anything) and I ordered the Herb Marinated Fried Chicken (corn bread, collard salad, kimchi mayo), Kyle and Taylor got the Forbidden Pizza (flat bread, cheddar cheese, garlic cheese, wild mushrooms, truffle oil, aneth, parsley), and Matt got an order of the Red Eye Poutine and the Mac and Cheese. It was all super good! Between some drinks and me trying the poutine which had briskett on it (I haven't eaten red meat since I was in about fifth grade) I DID end up feeling sick the next day, for the whole day, but we still had a great time. After the restaurant, we walked around, found a grocery store and a liquor store and got some wine before heading back to our place. It was fairly early, but we are all kind of old at heart and didn't exactly feel like bar hopping. We got up the next morning, and between wine, the poutine I ate, and nerves for my first tattoo, I felt sick. We ate, got ready and called an uber to get to the tattoo shop- SinCity. This tattoo shop was gorgeous and clean, and the artists were so professional and friendly. My artist was Paulo, and Taylor's was Mace. They're both incredibly talented. We were both there for about four and a half to five hours, and we were both unbelievably exhausted afterwards.
To be honest that was all we really did that day... I was still feeling ill and we were both exhausted. We went to A&W and got some fries and root beers, before going to a grocery store and getting for or five pizzas and snacks, as well as things to make breakfast for the morning. We got back to our airbnb, made some pizzas and chilled out. Taylor and I eventually passed out on the couches and were woken up to go to our rooms. It was a peacful ending to the day, and I was so excited about our tattoos, and being able to get my first one with my best friend. The third and last day in Montreal, we packed up early and headed out to sight see. We drove into Old Montreal and walked around, eventually going into the Notre-Dame Basillica of Monteal, which was absolutely gorgeous. You can view the pictures below in a slideshow. Overall this trip was a major success, and I couldn't have spent my weekend with better people. If you guys have any oppertunities to go to Montreal, I HIGHLY recommend it.
